Who Should Attend?
Anyone already holding an HSE Approved First Aid Certificate who needs to renew it. The Certificate must be renewed BEFORE its expiry date. Where a certificate has lapsed, it may be necessary for the person to complete a full course.
A copy of the current Certificate must be provided upon receipt of booking confirmation.
Programme Content:
Check on validity of current certificates.
Revision on all subjects included in the full course programme.
Theoretical and practical training in new first aid methods and procedures.
Examinations are conducted by Medical Practitioners, Nurses or Qualified Instructors, and delegates
receive a HSE approved “Workplace First-Aider’s” Certificate
Under the First Aid Regulations 1981, every employer has a duty to provide "such numbers of suitable persons as is adequate and appropriate in the circumstances for rendering first aid to his employees if they are injured or become ill at work". Whilst the regulations do not lay down how many first-aiders may be necessary in any particular circumstance it is generally accepted that a factory, building or construction site employing more than 50 people needs at least one qualified person. Employers should also take into consideration the difficulties encountered by shift workers, sex of employees and any special hazards.
